Lawrence Wilson

School: Connecticut
Position: OLB
Bio: Four-year starter awarded all-Conference honors after his junior and senior seasons when he led Connecticut in tackles. Senior totals included 123/10/3.5, 1 interception, and 3 pass breakups. Junior numbers included 140/5/11.
Positive: Active and athletic linebacker who is best in pursuit. Very quick in all aspects of the game, immediately alters his angle of attack, and fast flowing to the action. Displays speed in every direction of the field, outstanding in pursuit, and shuts the corners off from running backs or catches them in from the back side. Covers a lot of area on the field and shows great first-step quickness to the action. Breaks down well and plays with good knee bend. Solid instincts with a good head for the ball in run defense.
Negative: Undersized and easily blocked from the action or gets caught up in the trash. Just average skills against the pass.
Analysis: Wilson has weak side linebacker size and may even get consideration at strong safety from a number of teams. He'll be best in a situation that protects him from blockers and allows him to freely flow to the action.
