Positive: Tough, disciplined linebacker who works hard to get involved in the action. Breaks down well, uses his hands to protect himself, and changes direction without losing momentum. Plays off blocks, moves well laterally, and gets to the ball carrier. Aggressive in all aspects of the game.
Negative: Ineffective making plays in space and against the pass. Slow turning his hips to drop into coverage. Average playing speed.
Analysis: Neal was a dependable defender at Notre Dame yet lacks the size/speed numbers to be anything other than a practice squad player in the NFL.
