Jonas Mouton

School: Michigan
Position: OLB
Bio: Three-year starter who led the team and Big Ten in tackles last season with totals of 117/8.5/2, also intercepting two passes and breaking up another pair. Had 66 tackles and two interceptions as a junior and 76 tackles as a sophomore.
Positive: Athletic and explosive weak side linebacker prospect who makes plays sideline to sideline. Fast on the field and quickly pursues the action from all directions. Covers a great amount of area, uses his hands to protect himself, and rarely gets knocked off his feet. Plays with explosiveness and suddenness. Fluid pedaling in reverse, gets depth on drops, and shows ability in coverage.
Negative: Not a reliable tackler. Inefficient, takes too many steps to the action, and over pursues plays. Has average instincts. Timed poorly at the combine and pro-day.
Analysis: Mouton is an athletic prospect with the size to start on the weak side in a conventional defensive alignment. He needs to improve his instincts, yet he has a fair amount of upside.
