Jabara Williams

School: Stephen F. Austin
Position: OLB
Bio: Four-year starter awarded all-Conference honors since his sophomore season and named to numerous All-American teams since his junior campaign. Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 with totals of 108/1.5/6.5. Had 113 tackles as a junior and 132 tackles as a sophomore.
Positive: Fluid, disciplined linebacker who plays heads-up football. Breaks down well, uses his hands to protect himself, and shows good instincts. Quick filling the gaps in run defense, quickly changes direction, and displays terrific sideline-to-sideline range. Quickly picks up coverage assignments, fluid flipping his hips, and effectively makes plays in space.
Negative: Does not consistently play to his 40 time and shows marginal speed in pursuit. Not an explosive or quick linebacker. Undersized and easily out-positioned.
Analysis: Williams was very productive on the small school level, although he played out of position at middle linebacker most of the time. The ability to make plays in space could help him catch on as a backup weak side linebacker in a conventional defense.
