Eric McBride

School: Richmond
Position: OLB
Bio: Four-year starter awarded all-Conference honors since his freshman season and named an All-American the past two years. CAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 after totaling 119/6.5/12 and intercepting two passes while breaking up four more. Junior totals included 92 tackles after 108 as a sophomore. Posted a career-best 126 tackles as a freshman.
Positive: Active and aggressive college linebacker with marginal athleticism for the next level. Breaks down well, remains disciplined with assignments, and plays heads-up football. Hustles around the field, displays a lot of quickness, and effectively uses his hands to protect himself. Scrapes well laterally, effectively flows to the action, and gets depth on pass drops.
Negative: Shows a minimal burst of speed. Lacks size and must run around blockers as he is easily taken from the point of attack.
Analysis: McBride is a terrific football player yet lacks the size and speed for any specific position in the NFL. He possesses the skills to play special teams at the next level, which is the primary way he'll make a roster.
