Bio: Former Michigan transfer awarded all-Conference honors the past two seasons. Senior totals included 82/11.5/6.5 after a career-best 102 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss as a junior.
Positive: Athletic linebacker with the ability to make plays sideline to sideline. Fast to the flanks, gets depth on pass drops, and covers a lot of area on the field. Fluid changing direction, slides off blocks, and nicely redirects to ball carriers. Consistently displays the ability to make plays in open space.
Negative: Not forceful in any aspect of his game. Ineffective on the blitz and not a strong tackler. Lacks aggressiveness.
Analysis: Mixon has been a consistent player at Kent State the past two seasons and has shown flashes of NFL ability. He has the athleticism and skills necessary to back up on the weak side in a 4-3 defense if he keeps his focus and makes football a priority.
