Amara Kamara

School: Temple
Position: OLB
Bio: Three-year starter who totaled 67 tackles as a senior after posting 44/2/3 as a junior.
Positive: Underrated weak side linebacker prospect who has shown significant improvement the past two seasons. Athletic, displays speed in a straight line as well as laterally, and is fluid moving about the field. Smooth flipping his hips in coverage, gets depth on pass drops, and nicely redirects to ball carriers. Scrapes well laterally, makes a lot of athletic plays in space, and effectively uses his hands to protect himself. Quick up the field defending the run and wraps up ball carriers.
Negative: Marginally instinctive and often times late to react. Lacks size and gets swallowed up by blocks.
Analysis: Kamara proved to be a three-down linebacker as a senior when he turned in one of his best seasons to date. He lacks starting potential at the next level yet should be a very good backup and has the skills to be a solid special teams player.
