Akeem Dent

School: Georgia
Position: ILB
Bio: All-Conference selection as a senior after totaling 126/2.5/6.5. Part-time starter as a junior and posted 32 tackles. Started 10 games a sophomore and put up 46/1.5/3.
Positive: Stout run-defending linebacker who is best in the box. Stays with assignments, takes proper angles to the action, and gives effort. Forceful up the field, stacks well against the run, and plays with physicality. Has adequate change-of-direction skills, and nicely redirects to the ball carrier. Wraps up well when tackling.
Negative: Struggles in coverage, slow transitioning with tight ends off the line, and displays minimal range on the field. Lacks classic size and does not have the speed to make up for his size deficiency.
Analysis: Dent was a solid player for Georgia and a productive linebacker since his freshman season. He's a hard-nosed football player yet is a limited athlete with marginal upside. He plays with a special teams mentality and could be a reserve on the inside at linebacker.
