Bio: Four-year starter awarded all-Conference honors since his freshman season. Played fullback and linebacker as a senior. Rushing totals last season included 23/46/5 with receiving numbers of 9/75 and tackling numbers of 51/5.5/2. Junior rushing totals included 8/15/4 with 8/132/1 as a receiver.
Positive: Tough, hard-nosed player who does the little things well. Plays heads-up football, helps the quarterback sell ball fakes and shows great awareness on the field. Bends his knees, breaks down well, and can get around tackle as a lead blocker. Strong enough to turn defenders from the action or stays square to engulf opponents. Solid receiver who nicely adjusts and looks the ball into his hands. Remains disciplined with coverage assignments at linebacker, effectively diagnoses the action, and stacks well against the run.
Negative: Lacks overall quickness and speed. Cannot create space for running backs. Marginal offensive threat.
Analysis: Marecic is a throwback who played two ways as a senior and gets the most from his ability. He's a hard-nosed football player who may never be a star but will help an NFL roster in a variety of ways.
