David Carter

School: UCLA
Position: DT
Bio: Broke into the starting lineup as a senior, then posted numbers of 41/5/3.5. Was a reserve the prior three seasons, posting 9/2/2 as a junior coming off the bench.
Positive: Late-developing prospect with a lot of upside. Athletic, plays with good pad level and quickly gets off the snap. Keeps his feet driving up the field, plays with explosiveness and shows ability dropped off the line on zone blitzes. Fires through the open gaps of the offensive line and moves well sideline-to-sideline.
Negative: Must improve the use of his hands. Makes himself an easy target at times. Lacks bulk and can be handled by a single blocker.
Analysis: After three nondescript seasons at UCLA, Carter took his game to another level last season. He offers potential as a conventional tackle or two-gap end and should only get better with time.
