Carl Gettis

School: Missouri
Position: CB
Bio: Three-year starter who finished with 48/2/3 as a senior after junior totals of 61 tackles and five passes broken-up.
Positive: Productive college cornerback with poor size/speed numbers. Physical, mixes it up with receivers, and is quick up the field to help defend the run. Flashes on the scene, shows a burst of speed, and has good short-area quickness. Effective in zone coverage, quickly recognizes routes, and can stay with receivers out of breaks.
Negative: Lacks a quick backpedal and is off-balance when moving in reverse. Struggles making plays with his back to the ball. Not fluid in his hips. Shows poor instincts at times.
Analysis: Gettis was very productive on the college level but does not have skills that translate well to the NFL. Best facing the action, he could contribute as a dime back in zone coverage.
