Brandon Hogan

School: West Virginia
Position: CB
Bio: Three-year starter awarded all-Conference honors after his senior and junior campaigns. Totals last season included 37/3/6 after he had 74/1/11 as a junior. Arrested in September last year for driving under the influence. Tore a ligament in his left knee the first week of December.
Positive: Talented cover corner who plays a physical game. Aggressive in all aspects, physical throughout routes, and quick up the field defending the run. Fluid turning his hips in transition, runs downfield with opponents, and quickly gets his head back around to locate the ball and position himself to defend the throw. Displays a good break to the action out of his plant, plays with awareness, and works well with safeties. Occasionally asked to return kicks.
Negative: Lacks top closing or recovery speed. Prefers to side shuffle down the field rather than backpedal. Has experienced some serious off-the-field issues.
Analysis: Hogan is a feisty corner who does not back down under any circumstance and shows natural ball skills. He possesses enough ability to start at the next level if he keeps his focus on the football field and learns to does the little things well. Unlikely to be selected during the first half of the draft but could turn into a late-round steal.
