Negative: Shows indecision in coverage, bites on receivers' moves and plays back on his heels. Does not consistently position himself properly to break up the throw. Stiff and slow pedaling in reverse.

Negative: Struggles getting off blocks to make his way up the field and is not consistent in his backpedal.

Positive: Nice-sized cornerback with a solid overall game. Quick footed moving in reverse, fluid turning his hips, and loses nothing transitioning to run with receivers down the field. Jams opponents at the line, bumps throughout the route, and plays with physicality. Shows good awareness in zone assignments.
Negative: Does too much face guarding, slow getting his head back around, and at times late locating the pass.
Analysis: Rucker has been a solid cover man for the Spartans and offers the skills that translate well to the next level. He needs to improve his playmaking ability when his back is to the ball, but he could be very effective in a zone system or if backed off the line of scrimmage.

Breaks down well, flexible, and stays with receivers out of breaks.
Negative: Prefers to side shuffle and rarely backpedals off the line. Struggles to quickly drive out of his plant. Occasionally loses out in battles.
Analysis: Lindsey is one of the more underrated cornerbacks in this year's draft and a legitimate small school prospect with NFL skills. He may never be a starter at the next level but has the ability to be used as a nickel or dime back in zone coverage.

Positive: Well-sized and athletic defensive back who is still learning the position. Remains disciplined with assignments, displays the ability to drive to the action out of his plant and possesses a burst of closing speed. Fluid pedaling in reverse, quickly changes direction and plays an aggressive brand of football. Fast up the field defending the run, mixes it up with opponents throughout pass routes, and physically defeats them to defend the throw.
Negative: Displays a poor sense of timing. Loses a sense of where he is in relation to the receiver he is supposed to cover. Not consistent with his defensive back mechanics.
Analysis: Marsh took a quantum leap last season and started to develop as a defensive back. He possesses desirable size/speed numbers for the next level but will need a lot of work before he's NFL ready.

Aggressively puts his shoulders into opponents and is physical defending the run.
Negative: Prefers to side shuffle down the field rather than backpedal. Does not have the speed to play in man coverage.

Johnny Patrick
School: Louisville
Position: CB
Bio: Three-year starter who finished his senior season with 49/5/12 and was awarded all-Conference honors. Junior totals included 53/2/3. Pled guilty to a charge of harassment with physical contact stemming from a June 27th incident with a female acquaintance.
Positive: Athletic defensive back who displayed great strides in his game last season. Stays with receivers out of their breaks and remains engaged throughout the action. Quick up the field to defend the run.
Negative: Occasionally overmatched by larger receivers and loses out in battles. Not a reliable tackler.
Analysis: Patrick, who originally considered entering the 2010 draft, made the right decision returning to Louisville and performed well as a senior. He possesses the size and skills to eventually grow into starter on the NFL level and at the very least should be a productive nickel or dime player early in his career.

Positive: Incredibly athletic defensive back with a tremendous amount of upside. Physical in all aspects of the game, aggressively works to defend the pass, and gets vertical over opponents to come away with the interception. Breaks down well, plays with suddenness, and flashes on the scene out of nowhere. Jams receivers at the line, mixes it up with opponents throughout the play, and can run with receivers anywhere on the field. Fast enough to recover from mistakes and has an explosive burst to the action out of his plant. Strong open field tackler.
Negative: Must improve the consistency of his backpedal as he is quick to revert to side shuffling down the field. Does not display good route recognition in zone coverage.
Analysis: Peterson has been a terrific college cornerback who also became a game-breaking return man. He has opposing quarterbacks purposely staying away from him, and on the occasions they challenge Peterson, he handles opposing receivers. Peterson is a bump-and-run cover corner with a terrific amount of upside. He will also get consideration at free safety and should only get better as he polishes off his skills.

Negative: Prefers to side shuffle down the field. Stiff peddling in reverse.
