Nyan Boateng

School: California
Position: WR
Bio: Used in a rotational system the past two seasons. Senior totals included 13/191/2 after 29/439/5 as a junior when he led the team. Missed two games as a senior with a broken foot. Started his career Florida in 2005 before transferring.
Positive: Nice-sized pass catcher who's flashed skill in the past. Uses his frame to shield away defenders, extends his hands and offers the quarterback a nice target. Easily adjusts to the errant throw and makes the reception in stride. Solid blocker downfield.
Negative: Does not display naturally soft hands and all too often unnecessarily lets the pass get inside him. One-speed receiver and not a vertical threat.
Analysis: Boateng has had up and down college career yet possesses the size/speed numbers to be a fourth or fifth receiver in the NFL. Developmental prospect who could be stashed in a practice squad.
