T.J. Ward

School: Oregon
Position: S
Bio: Former walk-on who became a two-year starter and was awarded All-Conference honors after his junior season. Missed five games with an ankle injury last year and finished the season with totals of 68/1/4. Led the team in tackles as a junior posting numbers of 101/1/8.
Positive: Aggressive zone safety best between the numbers. Forceful up the field, possesses a burst of speed and is a solid open field tackler. Effective making plays in space and above-average sideline-to-sideline range. Displays good awareness in centerfield and quickly diagnoses the action.
Negative: Plays faster than his 40 time, yet he still lacks classic size/speed numbers. Average ball skills.
Analysis: Ward has shown a lot of skill the past two seasons and is a resilient player who works hard on the field. He offers possibilities as a starting safety for a zone system, and has a special teams mentality for the next level.
