Bio: Two-year starter at cornerback who began his college career at safety. All-Conference selection as a senior after totaling 59/2/9. Junior totals included 39 tackles. Missed the
Positive: Aggressive college cornerback who projects to safety at the next level. Physical, jams opponents at the line of scrimmage, and slows their release off the snap of the ball. Breaks down well, effectively uses his hands to get off blocks, and is physical. Plays with a nasty attitude, fast up the field, and willingly defends running plays or screens. Aggressively lays his shoulders into opponents, and is a hard hitter.
Negative: Very quick out of his backpedal and lacks an explosive burst to the ball. Marginal ball skills and struggles making plays with his back to the action.
Analysis: Pinkard has been a resilient player on the college level and a prospect who overcame a number of injuries to get his game back on track. His size and playing style dictate a move back to safety in a system where he can chase the action.
