Luke Lippincott

School: Nevada
Position: RB
Bio: Former safety who moved to running back as a sophomore. Posted career-high numbers of 1,420 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior when he was named as an all-Conference selection. Went down with a knee injury two games into the 2008 season and was lost for the year.
Positive: Strong, instinctive runner who displays outstanding vision and follows blocks everywhere on the field. Weaves through traffic on the inside, creates his own yardage and consistently finds the running lanes. Keeps his feet moving up the field, displays strength in his lower body and the ability to pick up the tough yardage between the tackles. Solid receiver out of the backfield.
Negative: Runs with an upright style, and makes himself an easy target for tacklers. Possesses just an average burst and quickness through the hole. Has a history of injuries that caused him to miss playing time.
Analysis: Prior to his senior season, Lippincott was rated as a potential late-round choice by NFL scouts and a ball carrier who could be used in short yardage situations. After his knee injury of last season, Lippincott must now prove he is fully healthy before receiving an invitation to camp.
