Daniel Dufrene

School: Illinois
Position: RB
Bio: Junior college transfer who posted 63/277/3 on the ground as a senior after career numbers of 117/663 the prior year. Also posted receiving numbers of 30/217/2 as a junior.
Positive: Average-sized running back who's displayed versatility in the past. Patient, follows blocks, and shows the ability to slip defenders. Uses an effective straight arm to keep runs alive, keeps his feet moving on contact, and falls forward when tackled. Effective receiver who nicely adjusts to the errant throw and makes the reception away from his frame. Does an effective job blocking when required.
Negative: Lacks the speed to turn the corner. Not a strong back and rather easily brought down by the first defender.
Analysis: Dufrene showed a lot of ability as a junior, yet he struggled last season at Illinois. He possesses the running skills and pass-catching abilities to find a home as a third-down back.
