Coleby Clawson

School: BYU
Position: OLB
Bio: Junior college transfer who started the two seasons he played for BYU. Senior totals included 63/8/5 after 55/11.5/4 as a junior. Served a church mission from 2002 to 2005.
Positive: Two-down linebacker best making plays up the field. Effective in the box, quickly locates the ball and slides down the line to make plays. Breaks down well, aggressively takes on blocks and relatively instinctive. Shows ability standing up over tackle.
Negative: Lacks lateral speed and does not cover a lot of area on the field. Struggles in coverage and does not get much depth on pass drops.
Analysis: Clawson is an undersized run defending linebacker who really does not play to his size/speed numbers. He has the playing style of a standup linebacker in a 3-4 alignment yet has the size for conventional lineup.
