Andy Mattingly

School: Washington State
Position: OLB
Bio: Senior totals included 70/4 when he was a full-time linebacker. Career totals of 91/11/8 came as a sophomore in 2008. Also experienced at defensive end.
Positive: Well-built college prospect best as a 3-4 outside linebacker. Competitive, works hard and is forceful up the field. Aggressive, throws his body around the action, and displays a good head for the ball. Adequate speed to the flanks and has a quick closing burst.
Negative: Possesses poor skills in coverage. Bites on play action passes, slow reacting to the pass and beaten downfield.
Analysis: Mattingly showed a lot of flashes of ability as a sophomore but never elevated his game. He has the size/speed numbers and the strength to play on the outside of a 3-4 alignment if he gets his game back on track.
