Lee Campbell

School: Minnesota
Position: ILB
Bio: Three-year starter who began his career at defensive end. Senior totals included 119/11.5/1.5 when he led the team in tackles as well as tackles for loss. Initially led the team in tackles as a junior, posting 80/5.5/4 when he also intercepted two passes.
Positive: Hard-working, run-defending linebacker best playing downhill. Remains disciplined with assignments, slides off blocks laterally, and effectively flows the action. Displays a good head for the ball in run defense, plays with a nasty attitude, and sells out on the blitz. Breaks down well, effectively uses his hands, and remains disciplined with assignments. Fires up the field in run defense and wraps up tackling.
Negative: Two-down defender who lacks top sideline-to-sideline range and speed to the flanks.
Analysis: Campbell made a seamless transition to the middle linebacker position in 2007 and has been a stout run defender at Minnesota. He projects as either middle or inside linebacker and has potential as a backup at the next level.
