Dace Richardson

School: Iowa
Position: G
Bio: Three-year starter at both tackle positions as well is left guard.
Positive: Large, powerful lineman who made a successful return from injury last season. Blocks with good leverage, displays the ability to adjust, and strong at the point. Gets his hands up, correctly places them into defenders, and easily anchors at the point of attack or controls opponents once engaged in a block. Displays the ability to adjust and steer opponents from their angle of attack. Turns defenders off the line, and opens holes for the running game.
Negative: Must improve his blocking balance. Not effective in motion. Has a long injury history that includes a broken leg toward the end of the 2009 season as well as knee surgery in 2007.
Analysis: Richardson is a big, thick offensive blocker best in confined quarters. Highly rated before his knee injury of 2007, he did well in his comeback last season before being sidelined with a broken leg. Offers potential as an inexpensive backup who can be used at guard or potentially right tackle.
