Jason Pierre-Paul

School: South Florida
Position: DE
Bio: Junior college transfer awarded All-Conference and all-American honors last season, his only campaign at South Florida. Totals included 45/16.5/6.5 in seven starts. Also intercepted a pass and broke up three more.
Positive: Physically gifted defensive lineman with a large upside to his game. Quickly gets off the snap with a nice first step, displays outstanding movement skills and speed in every direction. Fast off the edge, immediately alters his angle of attack and fluid stringing plays out laterally. Naturally strong and beats blocks to get up the field. Consistently doubled by opponents and works to get off blocks or gets his hands up to bat away throws if he cannot get to the passer. Used in both a three-point stance or stood up over tackle last season and displays outstanding edge speed.
Negative: Must develop more moves with his arms and learn to shed blocks quicker. Limited exposure to big time competition.
Analysis: Pierre-Paul burst on the scene last season and was an impact player on the South Florida defense. He possesses size as well as nice growth potential and is an outstanding athlete who will only get better as he physically matures.
