Doug Pilcher

School: Illinois
Position: DE
Bio: Moved into the starting lineup as a freshman and has seen extensive time with the first team ever since. Senior totals included 32/7.5/3.5 after 21/6/2.5.
Positive: Athletic, well-built defensive end who's been marginally productive in college. Quickly gets off the snap, immediately changes direction, and makes plays in every area of the field. Fluid moving laterally, makes plays out to the flanks, and keeps his pads low to the ground. Works his hands throughout the action, and keeps his feet driving up the field.
Negative: First move lineman who cannot get off blocks once engaged at the point of attack. Stood up by tight ends on running downs.
Analysis: Pilcher possesses the size/speed numbers to be used at defensive end in a conventional system, but he must prove he's more than a first-move lineman.
