Danny Batten

School: South Dakota State
Position: DE
Bio: Four-year starter awarded All-Conference honors since his sophomore campaign and named as an All-American last season. Senior totals included 83/15.5/10 after 75/14.5/8 as a junior.
Positive: An explosive college pass rusher who will be tried at outside linebacker in the NFL. Fires explodes off the snap, displays the ability to quickly change direction or alter his angle of attack and makes a lot of plays in pursuit. Fluid moving in all directions of the field, displays an array of moves to protect himself, and rarely off his feet. Plays with good balance and body control. He works hard until the whistle blows.
Negative: Easily pushed from his angle of attack. Has a thin build. Marginal power and ability to disengage from blocks at the point of attack.
Analysis: Batten has been a productive and hard-working defender on the small school level the past four years. He has possibilities as an outside linebacker for a 3-4 alignment at the next level and has a special teams mentality.
