Sherrick McManis

School: Northwestern
Position: CB
Bio: Three-year starter at cornerback and productive as a return specialist. All-Conference selection as a senior after totaling 37/5/7. Junior totals included 67 tackles and two interceptions. Averaged 23.2 yards on 31 kick returns as a sophomore in 2000 seven.
Positive: Adequately sized cornerback with a solid game. Fluid pedaling in reverse, smooth turning his hips and very quick transitioning to run downfield opponents. Shows ability backed off the line of scrimmage and possesses a good break to the ball out of his plant. Displays solid hands for the interception. Physical and will mix it up throughout routes. Wraps up tackling.
Negative: Struggles getting off blocks and loses out in battles. Marginal top end speed and really does not show the ability to recover.
Analysis: McManis has been a solid player for Northwestern the past three seasons and offers possibilities as a dime back/return specialist at the next level. Lacks the great upside yet does enough things well to make an NFL team.
