It’s the battle of the ball carriers at the Independence Bowl, a game that features a pair of running backs with contrasting styles.  After that it’s a contest of two developing programs slowly building back to relevancy.

Ka’Deem Carey/RB/Arizona: Honored as the PAC 12 Player of the Year, Carey is a multi-purpose skill player effective carrying the ball as well as catching it out of the backfield.  He has a creative style with the ability to slip defenders whenever the ball is in his hands.  Carey lacks great size but runs hard on the inside and works to pick up as much yardage as possible.  While we won’t go out on a limb and claim he’s a feature ball carrier for the next level, his instincts combined with the overall athleticism and ball skills Carey brings makes him starting material for the NFL.  2nd Round

Andre Williams/RB/Boston College: Williams comes off a career campaign, breaking numerous rushing records and moving up draft boards off his play this season.  He’s a big-bodied interior back best running downhill and Williams runs over defenders then shows the speed necessary to run away from them.  Sources have told me he’ll test off the charts at the combine.  Prior to the season Williams was graded as a free agent prospect by scouts but has since developed into a middle round choice. 3rd/4th Round

Mickey Baucus/T/Arizona: The massive blocker has been a three year starter at left tackle for Arizona and possesses a large degree of next level potential.  Baucus easily controls defenders at the point of attack and has performed well as a pass protector and run blocker.  Whether or not he stays at left tackle in the NFL is another matter altogether but Baucus offers the skills and size to play at the next level. 4th/5th Round

Kasim Edebali/DE-OLB/Boston College: The German born Edebali watched his game take off this season after starting the prior two years.  Edebali finished the year with 9.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and also broke up five passes.  He’s an undersized college defensive end who has enough speed and athletic skill to make the transition to outside linebacker in the NFL.  Expect Edebali to receive an invitation to the combine, where he can really boost his draft stock. 7th Round
