Assuming the top underclassmen enter the draft the 2014 class of tight ends offers something for everyone.  Play making pass catchers that are vertical threats top off the position board followed by several complete tight ends that are effective as receivers and blockers.  The later rounds will offer a number of potentially productive tight ends who’ll list on the two deep.

# Name School Year Round
1 Jace Amaro Texas Tech 3Jr 1st
Dynamic tight end that’s quickly developing a complete game.  Shows himself to be the go-to receiver that cannot be stopped.  Makes the difficult reception in the middle of the field or stretches opponents vertically.  Also has the frame to effectively in-line blocker.
2 Eric Ebron North Carolina 4Jr 1-2
Tremendous pass catching tight end who consistently beats opponents down the field.  Athletic, fast and creates mismatches in the secondary.  Needs to polish his game but comes with a large upside.
3 Austin Seferian-Jenkins Washington 3Jr 3rd
Large, mobile tight end who flashes a complete game.  Can be an overwhelming force but shows a lot of inconsistency and does not play up to his level of ability.
4 C.J. Fiedorowicz Iowa 4Sr 4th
Terrific blocking tight end also effective as a intermediate pass catching target.  Looks more like on offensive tackle on the line of scrimmage and beats down opponents to come away with the reception.
5 Xavier Grimble USC 4Jr 4th
Consistent pass catching tight end that’s shown consistent improvement in his game.  Finds the open seam in the defense then gets down the field.
6 Arthur Lynch Georgia 5Sr 4-5
Solid prospect with a complete game.   Very effective blocker best as a short range target.
7 Jacob Pedersen Wisconsin 5Sr 5-6
Underrated tight end effective in all areas of the game.  Comes away with the big reception during the games important moments and holds his own as a blocker.
8 A.C. Leonard Tennessee State 3Jr 6th
Former Florida transfer that looks like a man amongst boys when focused on his game.  Natural catching the ball, fluid moving about the field and holds his own as a blocker.  Must play hard for 60 minutes but could be effective in the NFL as a move tight end.
9 MyCole Pruitt
Southern Illinois
4Jr 6th
Productive small school tight end with a consistent game.  Neither fast or big but consistent and would work well as second man on the depth chart.
10 Kivon Cartwright Colorado State 4Jr 6th
Natural pass catching tight end with a developing game.  Beats opponents downfield, makes the difficult reception and comes with reliable hands.  Has an upside but must up his production.
