The Boilermakers can be an interesting team to watch at times though the tape is tough to get through on occasion.  The roster has some exciting defensive line prospects too watch as well as a variety of pass catchers.

Junior guard Ken Plue is a powerful lineman who easily knocks defenders from their angle of attack or turns them off the ball run blocking.  He easily out-positions opponents from the action then seals them from plays. Plue is not effective blocking on the move and is best in confined quarters.  He does have an upside and must be watched.

Senior defensive end Ryan Kerrigan is the top rated Purdue prospect and a terrific edge rusher who plays with balance, body control and gets a lot of momentum going up the field. Kerrigan quickly gets his hands up, uses them to protect himself and shows deceptive strength. He’s marginally effective in backside pursuit but could move up draft boards with a good senior campaign.

Third year sophomore Kawann Short stood out to us.  He plays with good pad level, shows power in the middle and defeats blocks up the field.  He’ll be the man in the middle with Michael Neal graduating to the NFL and must be kept on the radar.
